Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-2-VS-iPhone-4-apple
Now that AT&T offers the Samsung Galaxy S II, which is basically the best Android phone on the market at the moment, many of you might want to know how it compares to the all mighty Apple iPhone 4. We will break down all the specs to see which one comes out to be the best.

Size

Galaxy SII: 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.49mm, 117g

iPhone 4: 115.2 x 58.7 x 9.3mm, 137g

There is much debate to which phone is really the thinest smart phone. On paper the Galaxy S II is lighter and thinner, but I have heard many people say the iPhone 4 feels thinner when holding it. Watch the size comparison video Android Central made down below, You decide.

Display

Galaxy II : 4.27-inch, 800x480px, AMOLED Super Plus display

iPhone 4 : 3.5-inch, 960x640px, LCD with Retina display

The Galaxy S II features Super AMOLED Plus, which offers superior contrast and sharp edges for better outdoor visibility, all while having the lowest power consumption than any other display on the market. However, the iPhone 4's Retina Display is still king in this section. The Retina Display just has a more natural look in any lighting condition compared to any smartphone on the market.

Cameras

Galaxy II : 8MP rear, front 2MP, 1080p video capture

iPhone 4 : 5MP rear, front VGA, 720p video capture

Samsung is packing an 8 mega pixel rear camera on the Samsung Galaxy S II, which can record full 1080p HD video. Apple’s iPhone 4 features a 5 megapixel rear camera which records 720p HD video at 30 frames per second. The Galaxy 2 also has upped its front facing camera with a 2 MP sensor, thats better then most laptops with built in webcams.

Storage

Galaxy II : 16/32GB + microSD

iPhone 4 : 16/32GB

In the storage department both mobile devices offer the same internal flash storage, you will have to choosing between 16GB or 32GB. Where the Galaxy S 2 gets the edge is it also offers a microSD slot. This means you can actually double your storage on the Galaxy S 2 and expand it up to 64GB with a 32GB microSD card.

Battery Life

Galaxy II : 1650mAh, up to 8 hours talk time with 3G

iPhone 4 : 1420mAh, Up to 7 hours talk time with 3G

Android phones have always had horrible battery life when compared to the iPhone 4, looks like the Galaxy S II will try and change that. Talk time hours seem pretty equal but again these are just estimated talk time hours so we will see what the Galaxy II really has to offer in real life usage. Hopefully Galaxy users won’t have to worry about carrying a charger when walking out the door.

Performance

Galaxy II : 1.2GHz Dual Core Exynos chip, 1GB of RAM

iPhone 4 : Apple A4 1GHz, 512MB RAM

It seems to be a little unfair to be comparing processors with a phone that was released a little over a year ago to a just released Smartphone, but as you can see the Galaxy S II clearly beats the iPhone 4. With its dual core processor and double the Ram, the Galaxy S II whoops the iPhone 4 on processor speed.

Conclusion

As mentioned above, it's a little unfair to compare Apple’s last years model to Samsung’s just released smartphone, but if you're deciding between the best Android phone on the market and the latest iPhone, the Samsung Galaxy S II wins. It's amazing how Apple can produce hardware that is competing with mobile devices a year later, it goes to show Apple’s dedication to produce quality phones such as the iPhone 4. When Apple finally releases the iPhone 5, this comparison will be on a better playing field. Weather you go with Samsung’s amazing new smartphone or Apple’s great iPhone 4, you will not be disappointed. Both phones go above and beyond what any other phone has to offer.
