Microsoft has announced they will be officially launching the Fall 2011 Xbox 360 dashboard update , on December 6. After updating the gaming console, Xbox Live members will notice an entire overhaul of the dashboard’s style and navigation.

Just two weeks ago, Microsoft released a preview version of the dashboard update to its lucky beta testers. They also rolled out a new update for Xbox.com. Now, the good people over at Major Nelson have let us in on a whole list of updates the Xbox 360 will receive with the public release of the dashboard update.

The biggest feature that stands out on this list of updates is the “New personal and social features including Cloud Storage for Game Saves and LIVE Profile” This new “Cloud Storage” feature will change the way we use our gaming consoles for every day use.

One good reason to be excited for the new Cloud service is, there will be no need to save you're gaming info on a hard drive or memory stick when you want go to a buddies house to play video games. Now you will be able to log in to any Xbox 360 running Xbox Live and login to your account. You will then be able to access all your content, just as if you were at home.

Another good reason everyone seems to be leaning towards cloud services these days is you don’t have to worry about your machine dying on you and being stuck with all your content on the dead gaming system. You won’t even have to worry about transferring your data. All you will have to do is toss the scrap metal and login to a brand spanking new Xbox, like nothing ever happened.

We are also told that “through the holiday months, a wealth of new content will be coming to Xbox 360. New, customized applications for television, movies, internet videos, sports and music will begin rolling out from world-leading providers in more than 20 countries.”
